Gustavo Ribeiro is an international dance educator, choreographer, and coach, recognized for his excellence, versatility, and dedication to training new generations of artists. His international career as a professional dancer with prestigious companies including The Washington Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, and Miami City Ballet was marked by his strong stage presence and technical mastery across a vast repertoire of works by George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, Twyla Tharp, JiÅ™í Kylián, and other masters. Throughout his career, he performed on some of the most important stages across the United States, Europe, Canada, and Asia, gaining wide recognition for his versatility and exceptional artistry.

With a refined and inspiring pedagogical approach, Gustavo is deeply committed to training dancers in both classical and contemporary ballet, preparing them for elite competitions such as the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), Universal Ballet Competition (UBC), and the Prix de Lausanne. He serves as a judge and master teacher for UBC and is the official representative of the competition in Brazil, responsible for identifying and mentoring national talent toward the international finals.

He is an international guest teacher, coach, and choreographer, offering specialized mentorship for dancers aiming to stand out on the world’s most demanding stages. His experience as a faculty member and guest artist includes engagements with prestigious U.S. institutions such as Oregon Ballet Theatre, Colorado Ballet Academy, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School, Kansas City Ballet School, and Orlando Ballet School, among other benchmarks of technical and artistic excellence.

 

Certified in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Gustavo has contributed to both pre-professional and recreational divisions, sharing his expertise in training dancers to reach the highest level.

 

As the founder of the Grande Prêmio Internacional de Dança, Gustavo leads an innovative project that views art as a catalyst for social and cultural transformation. The event aims to promote education, inclusion, technical excellence, and international exposure for young Brazilian and South American talents. His choreography has received widespread acclaim and numerous awards at global competitions such as the Joinville International Dance Festival, VKIBC, ADCIBC, Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), and Universal Ballet Competition (UBC), solidifying his reputation as a leader in innovation and quality on the international dance scene.
